Algerian FM: Current NAM Summit To Explore Reason Of Non-commitment To Former Decisions

Tehran, Aug 28, IRNA – Algerian Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci called on the Non-Aligned Movement Summit to explore the reasons for non-materialization of the decision formerly made by the organization. The foreign minister made the remarks while talking to IRNA here on Tuesday. Medelci pointed to the significance of the 16th Non-Aligned Movement Summit and said the 17 observer states which are also present in the meeting should focus on the reasons why the decisions adopted in previous meetings of the organization have failed to materialize. He said this will oblige the member states to feel committed to undertaking the decisions to be made by the present meeting. The Algerian foreign minister also believed the 16th NAM is certainly a chance for member states to promote ties. Commenting on the Syrian crisis, he expressed hope that the NAM Summit will make good decisions on the issue. The meeting of NAM Foreign Ministers will be held for two days on August 28-29 with the NAM Summit slated for August 30-31.
