Iran Urges G5+1 To Avoid Publicizing Nuclear Talks

Tehran, Oct 22, IRNA – Tehran suggested the six world powers to avoid exposing to media the topics under discussion by nuclear negotiating teams in the present juncture, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham said on Wednesday. "We recommend the other party involved not to discuss the nuclear talks with media in the remaining time (until the November 24 deadline)," Afkham stressed. She made the remarks in her weekly press briefing commenting on reports made by certain Western media about the topics to be raised in the next round of nuclear talks between Iran and G5+1. The Iranian Foreign Ministry officials have rejected those reports. Afkham also said that plannings are being made for the next round of talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 (US, Britain, France, Russia and China plus Germany). The last round of talks (the 8th round of negotiations) between Iran and G5+1 ended in Vienna on October 16. Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton jointly led the negotiations. The talks focused on major disputed issues including the size and scope of Iran's enrichment activities, the procedure of sanctions removal and the duration of the final agreement./end
