Most successful referee of Netherlands: A Turk

THE HAGUE (A.A) - December 21, 2011 - A Turk has been elected the best referee of the Dutch first soccer division, Eredivise, in the first half of the season.  Serdar Gozubuyuk said his success was not coincidental, and he had worked hard to succeed. "I have applied to get a FIFA license, and the decision will be made public in a few days," the 26-year-old referee told AA correspondent in an exclusive interview. Gozubuyuk also said he hoped he would get good news from FIFA. Serdar Gozubuyuk started to take referee courses when he was 16. He refereed his first match in the Dutch first division in 2009, when he was 24.  Gozubuyuk is the first and only Turk serving as a referee in the Netherlands.
