Netherlands' FM Condoles Iranian Counterpart On Fatal Quakes

Berlin, Aug 16, IRNA – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Uri Rosenthal offered his sympathy and condolences to the relatives and families of the victims of the last week's twin devastating earthquakes in northwest Iran in a message to his Iranian counterpart. Sending a message to Ali-Akbar Salehi, the Dutch minister said, "On behalf of the people of the Netherlands, I extend my sympathy to those affected by the earthquakes." Rosenthal voiced Amsterdam's readiness to send humanitarian aid for the survivors of the fatal earthquakes which hit Iran's northwestern province of East Azerbaijan on August 11. The devastating quakes measured 6.4 and 6.3 respectively claimed 306 lives and injured thousands of local residents./end
