No Lawmaker To Join Iran’s Negotiating Team: Deputy FM

Tehran, Feb 4, IRNA – No Iranian member of parliament will join the country’s negotiating team with the Western governments, Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi said on Monday. Sarmadi told IRNA in an exclusive interview that there are no plans to add a lawmaker to the Iranian negotiating team. Some lawmakers had earlier demanded for a member of parliament to join the negotiating team with the western governments. On IAEA inspection of Iran’s nuclear sites, the deputy foreign minister said the inspections are underway under the agreement already reached with the International Atomic Energy Agency. Meanwhile, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Ali-Akbar Salehi and IAEA Director-General Yukiya Amano in Tehran on November 11 reached an agreement under which Iran allowed the inspectors of the UN nuclear watchdog to visit Arak heavy water plant and Gachin mine in southern port city of Bandar Abbas. Following the agreement the IAEA inspectors visited Arak heavy water facilities on December 8 and then visited Gahin uranium mine on January 29./end
