Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games to be broadcast in 58 Countries

Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games has today announced additional Rights-Holder Broadcast agreements that will ensure the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games will be broadcast in 58 countries, across four continents.
An agreement with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) will give viewers in Iran, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Afghanistan, Maldives and Brunei that chance to watch the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games.
In addition, the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games will also be broadcast in Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Radio Televizionit Shqiptar (RTSH) has also signed a contract to broadcast the Games to viewers in Albania.
As part of these agreements, all Rights-Holder Broadcasters will have exclusive access to footage from the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games, including:
* Live coverage of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, which will take place at the Baku Olympic Stadium on 12 and 22 May respectively
* A one-hour daily highlights programme, featuring the best sporting action and medal events from the Games
* Live coverage of all 16 matches in the football competition, which features teams from Turkey, Cameroon, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Palestine, Algeria and Azerbaijan
* A two-hour Games highlights programme
This announcement comes on the back of existing agreements with The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), TV Media Sport (TVMS), TRT, National Communications Network (NCN), ATV and AzTV, which will see the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games broadcast across the Middle East and North Africa, Sub Saharan Africa, Turkey, the Caribbean and the host country, Azerbaijan.
Speaking about these Rights-Holder Broadcast agreements, Mike Loynd, Chief Operating Officer for Baku 2017 said: “We are delighted that the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games will be broadcast to such a large international audience. In making the Games available to viewers in 58 countries, over 1.3 billion people, from across 4 continents, will have the opportunity to be part of this fantastic international sporting occasion, which will bring together athletes from all 57 ISSF member nations.”
