Iranian Weightlifter A Lightweight Champion In Asia After 42 Years

Tehran, June 23, IRNA – An Iranian weightlifter won the gold medal of 2013 Asian Weightlifting Championships and became a lightweight champion in the 69kg category. Jaber Behrouzi clinched the championship title in the 44th Menˈs competitions after 42 years. Behrouzi received the gold medal during the second day of the Asian weightlifting competitions started on June 21 in Astana, Kazakhstan. Behrouzi shone in Asian games after lifting 147 kg in snatch and 176 kg in clean and jerk. The 2013 Asian Weightlifting Championships, 44th Menˈs and 25th Womenˈs competitions will wind up on June 26./end
