We are deeply saddened to announce that Montaser Al-Sawaf, Anadolu Ajansı freelance cameraman reporting in Gaza, was killed in airstrikes on that region.

We are fighting to ensure the safety of our colleagues who are carrying out their duties under extremely difficult conditions in Gaza with great dedication. 

We would like to emphasize the crucial importance of the safety of journalists operating in the field for all respected news alliances. 

On behalf of all our colleagues who lost their lives in the attacks on Gaza, we strongly require all parties involved in the conflict to abide by the International Humanitarian Law and protect journalists so that they can do their job safely and independently.
