Vietnam’s deputy FM in Tehran for talks

Tehran, IRNA - Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang and her delegation have held talks with Iranian Foreign Ministry officials in Tehran.

Hang met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Monday where she discussed bilateral issues and initiatives for expansion of relations between Vietnam and Iran.

The Vietnamese official and her delegation also held talks with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri and his diplomatic team. 

A statement from the Iranian Foreign Ministry said Amirabdolahian had expressed his satisfaction in the meeting with Hang about the positive trend in relations between Tehran and Hanoi while reiterating the need for joint efforts to improve political, economic, trade, scientific and cultural cooperation between the two sides.

Hang, for her part, referred to the long history of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Iran and said the two countries have been witnessing a satisfactory trend in their bilateral relations.

She also briefed the Iranian foreign minister about discussions with Bagheri and his team as part of the eighth round of political consultative committee meetings between officials of the two countries.
