Medical Service Improved in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- Efforts are being made in the DPRK to put medical service on a scientific and modern basis.
Officials of the Ministry of Public Health and relevant areas have directed efforts to laying a foundation for more scientific medical service, including the improvement of the level of telemedicine, the establishment of emergency medical service control system and the introduction of the system of health care of residents.
South Hamgyong, South Phyongan and North Hamgyong provinces have further raised the level of telemedicine system by pushing ahead with the work to supply more information means to medical institutions in the provinces.
A nationwide show has been held at the preventive and curative medical institutions to contribute to operating the emergency medical service control system more efficiently. And provincial, city and county hospitals are taking measures to solve the problems arising in quickly and correctly offering the emergency medical service under the unified command of provincial emergency control centers.
The work for introducing the system for health care of residents is being accelerated in a planned way at the ri hospitals and polyclinics.
Meanwhile, hospitals in the capital city have worked out technical teaching programs with various experience and scanned information accumulated in the course of clinical activities and sent them to the provincial preventive and curative institutions. They have also dispatched competent medical workers to the field to introduce advanced diagnostic treatment methods. -0-
