Sowing of Rice Seeds in Full Swing

Pyongyang, March 29 (KCNA) -- Agricultural officials and workers in Nampho Municipality of the DPRK have turned out in the immediate work for sowing rice seeds in seedbeds.
The municipal rural economy committee organized a passing-on-technique meeting on the basis of taking into account this year's climate conditions, growth period of each species and time of rice-transplanting while ensuring the timely supply of farming materials.
Agricultural workers in Taean District have ensured both the speed and quality of sowing while satisfying the technical regulations in treating, sun-drying and selecting seeds.
Farms in Hanggu District, too, registered good results from the beginning while ensuring the correct amount of seeds per phyong (Korean unit of area) according to species. Farmers in Chollima District are doing their work in a qualitative way, including covering fields with plastic sheets.
Those in Waudo District, Onchon County and other areas are making quality rice seedling beds while speeding up the work for sowing seeds in fields every day.
Meanwhile, agricultural officials and workers in the municipality are making preparations for the immediate farming, including spring plowing and maintenance of farm machines. -0-
