Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Sends Congratulatory Message to Syrian President

Pyongyang, April 18 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), sent a congratulatory message to Bashar Al-Assad, president of the Syrian Arab Republic, on April 17.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in the message extended warm congratulations to the Syrian president and, through him, to the government and people of Syria on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of its independence on behalf of the government and people of the DPRK.
After the independence, the Syrian people have achieved many successes in the struggle to defend the sovereignty and dignity of the country and achieve socio-economic changes, resolutely standing against the ceaseless moves of all hostile forces for aggression and intervention, the message said.
Expressing the belief that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries would grow stronger, the message extended invariable support and encouragement to the just cause of the government and people of Syria for defending the sovereignty, peace and security of the country. -0-
