Pyongyang University of Publication and Printing Marks Its 40th Birthday

Pyongyang, April 27 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang University of Publication and Printing has marked its 40th founding anniversary.
Over the past four decades, the university has developed into a comprehensive edifice of publishing and printing science and a "pedigree farm" for training talents versed in the printing science and technology and the industrial art under the outstanding guidance and benevolent loving care of the peerlessly great men.
After seeing through the position and role of prints in the revolution and construction, President Kim Il Sung laid the material and technical foundation for training printing technicians prepared politically and ideologically and equipped with modern science and technology.
To further accelerate the revolution in publishing and printing, Chairman Kim Jong Il founded Pyongyang University of Publication and Printing on April 26, Juche 73 (1984) and personally guided it to fulfill its mission and role.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who put forward the university as a base for training reserve industrial artists in the country, made public an immortal classic work "On Some Problems in Developing Industrial Art", indicating the orientation and ways for bringing about a revolutionary improvement in education and scientific research.
So far, the university has carried out lots of research projects prioritized by the state and created excellent industrial art designs, true to the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea on bringing about a radical improvement in education, and achieved proud successes conducive to the economic development of the country and the improvement of the people's standard of living.
A meeting was held at the Central Youth Hall on April 26 to mark the 40th founding anniversary of the university.
Present there were Ri Myong Chol, secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, and officials, teaching staff and students of the university. -0-
