Al-Mandalawi And Aliyev Stress The Importance Of Improving Relations Between Iraq And Azerbaijan At Various Levels

Baghdad / NINA /- The Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, President of the Arab Parliamentary Union, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, met today, Wednesday in Baku, with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in the presence of the Iraqi parliamentary delegation and the Iraqi Chargé d’affaires to Azerbaijan, Makki Al-Mamouri.

 Al-Mandalawi and Aliyev stressed, according to a statement from Al-Mandalawi’s office, the depth of the relationship between Iraq and Azerbaijan, and the importance of developing and advancing it at various levels in a way that achieves the interests of the two friendly peoples, and enhances cooperation in the political, economic, and security fields, as well as the sectors of oil, gas, tourism, education, transportation, and agriculture.

 The two sides discussed the situation in the Middle East region, especially the Zionist aggression against Palestine, its danger to regional and international peace and stability, and the necessity of joint action to stop the aggression against the Gaza Strip, and prevent the region and the world from sliding into the furnace of a vast war whose borders and devastating effects cannot be controlled./ End
