Saudi Fund for Development Inaugurates Cancer Hospital Project in Mauritius

Mauritius, May 09, 2024, SPA -- CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Sultan Al-Marshad has inaugurated the Cancer Hospital project in Mauritius.
A press release from the SFD said the event was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, the Minister of Health in Mauritius, Dr. Kailesh Kumar Singh, the Saudi Ambassador to Mauritius, Fayez Meshel Altemyat, and the Ambassador of Mauritius to Saudi Arabia, Shaukat Soudhan.
According to the release, SFD had previously contributed $25 million to this project to enhance Mauritius' healthcare infrastructure. With an expansive area of approximately 21,000 square metres and 220 medical beds, the hospital is set to improve healthcare standards and ensure accessible cancer treatment for patients.
This assistance reflects SFD's commitment to advancing healthcare accessibility and outcomes globally.
The Cancer Hospital projects represent a continuation of SFD's enduring dedication to supporting Mauritius' developmental goals. Since 1982, SFD has been pivotal in financing seven projects and programs totalling $228 million in Mauritius. These projects have supported vital sectors, including urban development, infrastructure, healthcare, and housing, contributing significantly to sustainable growth and prosperity across Mauritius.
