Al-Mashhadani Receives The Azerbaijani FM And Stresses: Cooperation Between Influential Countries Helps In Quelling Crises And Conflicts In The Region

Baghdad/NINA/- Parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani discussed with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his accompanying delegation expanding cooperation between the two countries in the political, religious, cultural, and economic fields.

The Parliament Speaker's media office stated in a statement: "Al-Mashhadani received Bayramov, the Azerbaijani Chargé d'Affaires in Iraq, Elnur Mammadzadeh, and an economic and political delegation, in the presence of Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein and a number of MPs and advisors to the Parliament Speaker."

During the meeting, according to the statement, cooperation between the two countries in all tourism and educational fields was discussed, as well as efforts to open an Azerbaijani consulate in Erbil and ways to facilitate its work.

Al-Mashhadani praised the work of the governmental committee between the two countries in establishing the Iraqi-Azerbaijani Businessmen Council, stressing that "the crises and conflicts the region is experiencing today must be reflected in cooperation between influential countries to extinguish these conflicts or, at the very least, contain them so that they do not spread to other countries."

The two sides agreed to support the Palestinian people in their common positions towards Gaza and Palestine. / End
