The waste processing plant, the first of its kind to produce diesel fuel and gasoline of “Euro-4” standard launched in Mongolia.
“Akhui Mandal” factory located in Bagakhangai district of the capital city has capacity to process 10-12 tons of worked lubricators, 10-15 tons of used tyres and other waste plastics, and produce 7-8 tons of fuel a day.
It is esteemed that this recycling factory with modern new technology can also reduce the greenhouse effects. The completely automated factory’s staff consists of two engineers and over 30 employees.
When the country has almost any factory of such kind and fuel consumption increases every year, the waste processing factory has a great importance not only ecologically but also economically.
Mongolia receives over 90 percent of petroleum products from its north neighbor –Russia. It is likely that Mongolia’s fuel demand will rise in coming years as a result of rapid economic growth followed by the improvement of people’s welfare. The country makes strides to become energy independent from any countries, thus ensure its economical security.
Now Ulaanbaatar has the fuel factory having a great significance for minimizing its waste materials by 30 percent and introducing the advanced system for garbage sorting. The amount of waste tyres and worked lubes are increasing year by year due to growing the numbers of vehicles and intensive development of the mining sector. The factory with capacity to recycle safely the above waste materials is really environment-friendly.
