7th China Roadshow To Intensify Malaysian Govt's Efforts To Tap China's Lucrative Market
KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 (Bernama) -- The 7th China Roadshow 2017, which begins in Beijing, China, Monday is expected to further intensify the Malaysian government’s on-going efforts through the Tourism and Culture Ministry's to tap the lucrative China’s outbound market, which contributes significantly to the tourist arrivals in Malaysia.
In a statement here Monday, the Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) said the roadshow would pitch and showcase the best and latest of Malaysia's unique offerings to attract more corporate and meeting groups from China.
“In 2016, China emerged as the country's biggest source market bringing in 29,931 participants from the corporate meetings and incentives sector and contributed RM436 million (US$98.99 million) in economic impact to Malaysia,” said MyCEB Chief Executive Officer, Zulkefli Sharif.
Zulkefli, who is leading the mission to China, is supported by a delegation of 24 industry partners comprising Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau, Sabah Tourism Board, hotels, state bureaux, unique venues, destination management companies, event suppliers and convention centres.
The 7th China Roadshow would continue its mission to other major cities in China including Shanghai (April 20), Chengdu (April 24) and Guangzhou (April 27).
MyCEB is a non-profit organisation, set up by the ministry to strengthen Malaysia's business tourism brand and position for the international business events market.
