80 Malaysian Businessmen To Attend Indonesia Trade Expo

Kuala Lumpur, Oct 16 (ANTARA) - Around 80 Malaysian businessmen from Selangor, Johor, Penang, Sabah and Sarawak will attend the Indonesia Trade Expo, the country`s top international trade exhibition, with the aim of establishing partnerships with Indonesian businessmen. "If we count all the Malaysian representatives for Indonesia and individual businessmen who will attend the event held in Jakarta, there will be more than 80 participants from Malaysia," Economic Counsellor of Indonesian embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Hendra Satya Pramana said in an interview with ANTARA on Tuesday. Pramana mentioned that 34 delegates from the State Board of Commerce Melayu Malaysia Selangor will attend the event and visit a number of factories in Jakarta and Tangerang. "In addition to the exhibition, they will also visit Thamrin City, as well as a shoe factory located in Tangerang," he said. He also said that, during their visit to Jakarta from October 16 to 19, the delegates will also visit the Ministry of Trade. "We expect to meet the Minister, but if it is not possible, we will try to have a meeting with the deputy minister," he added. Pramana expressed hope that the event would enhance trade and industrial cooperation between Malaysian and Indonesian entrepreneurs, considering business partnerships between both sides have intensified recently. "By the expression of greater interest from them for this event, we gauge and expect there will be more business transactions in the near future," he said, adding information that Malaysian businessmen are more enthusiastic about investing in Indonesia now.
