Afghan Diplomat Calls For Easing Travel To Iran Of Afghan Businessmen

Zahedan, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Oct 14, IRNA -- Afghan consul general to Zahedan Mohammad Zaher Norestani called on Saturday for easing travel procedures Afghan businessmen to Sistan-Baluchestan province. He made the remarks in a meeting with the Governor General of Sistan and Baluchestan Hatam Narouei. Norestani appealed to Iranian government to ease the visa issuance procedure for Afghan citizens living or doing business in Iran. He said that Afghanistan expects Iranian government to ease travel of Afghan businessmen and transport of Afghan goods to Iran. Narouei said Iran-Afghan relations are based on mutual respects, good neighborly relation and Islamic brotherhood. Pointing to too many common grounds between Iranians and the Afghan people, he said Iran has proved its goodwill and stood by Afghan government and nation in hard times. Narouei said Iran keeps its friendly relations with all nations except for Israel, and calls for expansion of ties and cooperation with neighboring and the Muslim nations based on Islamic teachings. Narouei underlined expansion of mutual cooperation in international issues and said Iranians and Afghans have been close friends for centuries./end
