AirAsia X Flight To KL Diverts To Brisbane After Bird Strike

KUALA LUMPUR, July 4 (Bernama) -- AirAsia X Bhd's flight D7 207 bound for Kuala Lumpur from Gold Coast was diverted after experiencing a suspected bird strike to its starboard engine after take-off Monday. The remains of two birds were found on the runway. The flight, carrying 345 passengers and a 14 member crew, was diverted to Brisbane airport and landed safely at 11.33 pm, the carrier said in a statement. “A recovery flight has been deployed and is expected to reach Brisbane Airport at 5.10 pm (local time) and passengers are expected to be transferred to recovery flight D7 689 which is scheduled to depart for Kuala Lumpur at 6.10 pm today (Tuesday),” it added. -- BERNAMA
