Beijing invites Russian companies to invest in Chinese market

BEIJING, September 18. /TASS/. Chinese Premier of the State Council Li Keqiang has invited Russian companies to invest actively in the Chinese market after the meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Foreign Ministry of the People’s Republic of China said in a statement on Wednesday. "Our country is becoming increasingly open, that process has delved into the whole Chinese manufacturing sector. We invite Russian enterprises to use the opportunities and invest actively in the Chinese market, develop their business," Li Keqiang was quoted as saying. Beijing and Moscow should search for more areas of common interest for the sake of joint development, the official noted. "We should take the chances that presented themselves thanks to two cross-years (2020-2021) of Sino-Russian cooperation in the field of innovations, science and technology," he said. The two countries support global multisided mechanisms ensuring fair international trade and fruitful economic cooperation, Li Keqiang emphasized, adding that Beijing expected a more beneficial bilateral energy cooperation. Chinese Premier of the State Council’s official visit that takes place in the year of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Moscow and Beijing, started on September 16. On September 17, bilateral talks between Medvedev and Li Keqiang were held in St. Petersburg, as well as the 24th regular meeting of heads of the two countries’ governments where the sides discussed the issues of economy, energy, trade cooperation, transport, agriculture, trans-regional and humanitarian partnership. The meeting was followed by the signing of joint communique of heads of governments of the two states, as well as a number of relevant documents. Medvedev declared Russia’s determination to expand cooperation with China in all areas. Read more
