Boeing Delivers 787 Dreamliner To British Airways

KUALA LUMPUR, June 28 (Bernama) -- Boeing and British Airways have announced the delivery of the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The British Airways 787 departed Paine Field in Everett, Washington, on Wednesday, to arrive at London's Heathrow home on June 27, Boeing said in a statement here Friday. Todd Nelp, Vice President of European Sales, Boeing Commercial Airplanes said the delivery of the British Airways' 787 is an exciting milestone for the company and airline. "The 787 is the most technologically advanced and fuel-efficient commercial jetliner in its class. Its improved lighting, bigger windows, larger overhead bins, lower cabin altitude and cleaner cabin air, will offer the airlines' passengers an unparalleled flying experience," he added. The 787 is the first mid-sized airplane capable of flying long-range routes, providing airlines with unprecedented fuel economy and low operating costs. This also enables the airlines to open new, non-stop routes preferred by passengers. --BERNAMA
