China Airlines Now Flies From Kaohsiung To KLIA

SEPANG (Malaysia), Nov 3 (Bernama) -- Taiwan's largest airline, China Airlines, has introduced a second route to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) with the new service from Kaohsiung effective Wednesday. It will be flying on the Kaohsiung-Kuala Lumpur route every Wednesday and Saturday utilizing the B737-800 aircraft with 158 seats configuration. The flight duration takes approximately four hours and 20 minutes. Currently, China Airlines operates daily flights between Taipei and Kuala Lumpur. Speaking after a welcome reception to commemorate China Airlines' inaugural flight from Kaohsiung here, Malaysia Airports Chief Operating Officer Abdul Hamid Mohd Ali said the new service would increase connectivity for KLIA. "The tourism attraction and business opportunities in both countries will certainly ensure the success of this new flight," he said. China Airlines General Manager for Malaysia Edward Wang Chia Chuan said his company expected to increase the frequency of flights from Kaohsiung to Kuala Lumpur from twice a week to daily as soon as possible. -- BERNAMA
