DPM:Thailand is attracting more foreign investment
BANGKOK, May 17 (TNA)- Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak says that Thailand is attracting more foreign investment projects, following many roadshows organized by the Thai government over the past months.
Somkid, who oversees economic affairs, told journalists of the information on May 16, noting that the new foreign investment flowing into Thailand are from several countries.
The deputy premier acknowledged that the Thai government's new mega-infrastructure development projects have drawn in more foreign investment into the country.
Meanwhile, the deputy prime minister also expressed his satisfaction with the latest figure recently reported by the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) that Thailand's gross domestic project (GDP) in the first quarter of this year expanded by 3.3 per cent year-on-year.
The Thai deputy premier also quoted the NESDB as projecting that the country's average GDP growth in 2017 should, therefore, stand at 3.5 per cent year-on-year. (TNA)
