E-Commerce, The Fastest Way To Bring Asean Together- QI Group

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- E-commerce is the fastest way to bring ASEAN countries together, says QI Group Executive Chairman, Vijay Eswaran. "For instance, someone in Phnom Penh can buy goods or services from Bandung. It may be manufactured perhaps in Manila, and delivered via courier service or an online platform from Singapore into Phnom Penh. "The customer service for physical products could be in Kuala Lumpur and the packaging for it developed in Myanmar. So that’s Asean," he said in a statement on Friday. Hence, Vijay urged entrepreneurs in the region to embrace and make full use of technology and the Internet of Things (IoTs) to become more competitve. He said in addition, freer and more progressive regulations would further enhance the growth of e-commerce. “Governments must encourage a free market and work towards an even playing field. “It is a balance that the government has to find between a private-public partnership and allowing the law to evolve from it," he added. -- BERNAMA
