Governor of Qatar Central Bank Meets Kazakh Officials

Astana, March 14 (QNA) - HE Governor of Qatar Central Bank (QCB) Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al-Thani met on Tuesday separately with Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Kairat Abdrakhmanov, and Governor of the Astana International Financial Centre Kairat Kelimbetov, on the sidelines of his participation in Islamic Finance Forum of the Commonwealth of Independent States of the former Soviet Union, held in the capital Astana.   During the two meetings, they discussed ways to boost bilateral relations between the two countries, and reviewed means to strengthen partnership in the financial and banking field.   HE the QCB Governor leads Qatar's delegation participating in the Islamic Finance Forum in the capital of Kazakhstan. The delegation includes Chairman of Al Rayan Bank, CEO of Al Rayan Bank, CEO of the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority, Director of QCB's Financial Stability & Statistics Department, Director of QCB's International Cooperation Department, Director of QCB's Public Relations and Protocol Department, and head of QCB's section for supervision and control of Islamic banks.   The Forum discussed ways to develop Islamic finance in the Commonwealth's markets and increase the flow of capitals in accordance with the principles of Islamic law. It looked into the developments related to the legal and regulatory frameworks as well as changes that support the growth of Islamic finance business. (QNA)
