Honda's celebration in Thailand

BANGKOK, November 17 (TNA) - Japan-based Honda Manufacturing Co., Ltd. celebrates the 50 millionth unit of its motorcycles and multi-purpose engines produced in Thailand, confirming that the Thai Kingdom will continue to be one of the company's major export-oriented production bases in the region. Thai Permanent Secretary for Industry Atchaka Sibunruang said on Monday, when joining an event to celebrate Honda's long-standing production in the Thai economy, that Thai Honda Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has produced 1.7 million motorcycles and 3 million multi-purpose engines yearly. Atchaka stated that the products have been exported to 80 countries worldwide and 95 per cent of them have used locally made parts. Atchaka noted that the production helps not only expand related industries in Thailand, but also creates jobs and builds up a positive image of Thai industries. According to the senior official, Thai Honda has been recognized as an important export-oriented production base of Honda. Meanwhile, Shunichi Eguchi, President of Thai Honda Manufacturing Co., Ltd., expressed his gratitude towards local and international customers for always supporting and trusting Honda. Eguchi announced that, from now on, Honda will continue to develop its Thai production base to better and faster satisfy customers and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Eguchi acknowledged that Thai Honda has been ranked the 4th in the region in terms of its total production amount, after Honda's plants in Indonesia, India and Vietnam. (TNA)
