Indian Group Acquires Malaysian Technology Company

By SHAKIR HUSAIN NEW DELHI, Aug 30 (Bernama) -- Indian electronics company, Hero Electronix, has acquired Malaysia's Spectrum Integrated Technologies Sdn Bhd to grow its engineering business in South-East Asia. Spectrum, which makes printed circuit boards at its Johor Bahru facility, employs 100 people. The acquisition was made through Bangalore-based Tessolve Semiconductor Pvt Ltd, a semiconductor design and testing company owned by Hero. Tessolve, which already has a design and testing facility in Penang employing 70 staff, did not say how much it paid for the Malaysian acquisition. Hero also bought Singaporean firm Lynxemi Pte Ltd's semiconductor test laboratory business. The acquisitions will help Tessolve move from offering semiconductor test engineering services to becoming an end-to-end solutions provider, said New Delhi-based Hero Electronix, which is part of India's top motorcycle manufacturer Hero group. "Our goal with these acquisitions is to fill gaps that will help us bring complete solutions to our customers which include engineering capabilities and strategic infrastructure," Tessolve Chief Executive, P. Raja Manickam said. -- BERNAMA
