Iran-Pakistan Can Raise Volume Of Trade Transaction By 5 Times: VP

Islamabad, Feb 6, IRNA – Iran’s Vice President for International Affairs Ali Saeedlou said that Iran and Pakistan can easily increase the volume of their trade transactions by five times. Saeedlou, who is heading a high-ranking delegation in an official visit to Pakistan, made the remarks to reporters during the flight on Sunday. “The value of our trade transactions with Pakistan is currently more than one billion US dollars which can considerably increase given the potential and capacities of both countries,” he added. Saeedlou pointed that Tehran and Islamabad can increase the value of their trade transactions to five billion US dollars within next two years. Referring to the fact that Pakistan’s requirement to Iran’s energy, especially gas and electricity is very serious, the Iranian vice president termed a contract for construction of Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline as one of the most important joint projects of both countries. “Tehran and Islamabad have already signed the contract and are committed to implement the project of Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline according to schedule,” Saeedlou added.
