Jakarta Index Up 7.87 Points
Jakarta, Jan 11(ANTARA) - The Indonesian shares edged up 7.87 points on Friday driven by positive regional sentiments.
"BEI index opened higher on positive sentiments from the regional markets," Samuel Sekuritas` analyst Yualdo Yudoprawiro said here on Friday.
The Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) opened with index rising 0.18 percent to 4,325.24 points and index of 45 most liquid stock up 0.28 percent to 735.93 points.
Yualdo said a number of shares with big capitalization from the banking, automotive, crude palm oil and consumer sectors rebounded after significant fall in the last two day trading.
The Asian market strengthened on approval of the Japanese economic stimulus package of 10.3 trillion yens.
Meanwhile, the US market extended gain last night to become the driving force for the regional market. Also contributing to the revival was China`s economic recovery marked with an increase in its December`s exports.
Regional markets Hang Seng recorded an increase of 0.35 percent in index to 23,435.42 points, Nikkei-225`s index rose 1.24 percent to 10,785.09 points though the Straits Times lost 0.54 percent to 3,218.51 points.
