JCB, Kasikorn launch joint cards for Thai visitors to Japan

BANGKOK, June 20 (TNA) -- JCB International and Kasikorn Bank introduce a joint credit card service for the conveniences of Thai visitors to Japan as Japan is confident of the Thai economy. Kimihisa Imada, chairman of JCB International, said Thailand remained a major market of JCB as it was the center of ASEAN and JCB believed in Thailand’s long-term economic growth given the Thai government’s serious investments in infrastructures. He also said that more Thai people were visiting Japan. Last year more than 900,000 Thai people went there, forming 4.5% of the outbound market. Each of them spent 43,200 baht in Japan, being the sixth biggest spender in the country. This increases credit card usage accordingly. Therefore, Kasikorn Bank and JCB International launch the JCB Kasikorn credit card service to meet the demand of Thai people who like to visit Japan. They expect to issue 100,000 such cards in a year, offering privileges including special exchange rates, tour package prices and discounts at Japanese restaurants. (TNA)
