korean Private Investors Increase Investments in Aceh

Banda Aceh, Nov 27 (ANTARA) - Korean private investors will increase their investments to build solar cell assembly plants in free trade zones and free ports in Sabang, Aceh Province. They will be investing as much as Rp120 billion. "I hope this investment changes the fate of the Aceh province," said Zaini Abdullah, Governor of Aceh, during a meeting with the Korean private investors on Monday. Fauzi Husin, head of the Sabang Enterprising Board (BPKS), and the board of directors of Myrae Energy Co Ltd: Han Seung Sik, CEO, Yuu, Vice CEO and Lee Hyun Ok, General Manager also attended the meeting. Abdullah expressed hope that an assembly plant that looks into electrical energy production will supply electricity to the local people living in the area. �I hope that the joint effort by the government officials and the investors is not just limited to Sabang. I hope that they will develop other regions in Aceh so that overall unemployment is reduced," he noted. According to Fauzi Husni, one hectare of land has been allocated to the investors to build industrial facilities. "The Korean private investors have kept Rp2 billion as a security deposit," he stated. Meanwhile, the CEO of Myrae Energy, Han Seung Sik, said that he has plans to build warehouses and to produce machines for the establishment of solar cell assembly plants by 2013. "We will build an assembly plant by January 2013, and we will target to start production in March," he stated. Sik added that he will sell the products to the local market before expanding on a global scale.
