Livestock Malaysia Conference And Exhibition To Be Highlight Of HPPNK

PUTRAJAYA, May 18 (Bernama) -- The Livestock Malaysia Conference and Exhibition 2017, alongside the Malaysia Food Festival, is expected to be the highlight of the National Farmers, Livestock Breeders and Fishermen’s Day (HPPNK) celebration from Sept 28-Oct 1. Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Minister Ahmad Shabery Cheek said Livestock Malaysia will focus on innovation, service and agriculture technology that can enhance productivity and save costs. "The innovation aspect to be promoted concerns the use of drones and closed circuit television cameras (CCTV) in managing farms. “Other than that, automation technology in agriculture will also be exhibited, with owners of farms receiving automatic signals when food being given to their livestock is finished,” he told reporters when announcing Livestock Malaysia at his ministry here Wednesday. Ahmad Shabery said the use of drones and CCTV in Malaysia’s agricultural industry can help reduce manpower and at the same time, reduce the dependency on foreign labour. -- BERNAMA
