Malaysia Can Be Digital Leader In New Economic Environment - SAP SE

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 (Bernama) -- SAP SE, a market leader in enterprise application software, is confident that the Malaysian government and enterprises have an opportunity to be digital leaders in the new economic environment with the National Transformation 2050 (TN50) as the framework for its national digital transformation. SAP Southeast Asia Head of Analytics and Insight, Kathleen Muller said Malaysia had achieved milestones in digitisation and embracing technology. "People are embracing digitisation. It is not about competing with other nations, it is about enabling itself as a powerful nation," she told reporters on the sidelines of the Asian Innovators Summit 2017 here, Thursday. Also present was SAP Malaysia Managing Director, Terrence Yong and Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd Chief Strategy Officer, Azli Mohamed. "With TN50, you will see a hockey stick growth of adoption in technology and how it can better improve the life of Malaysians in the long-term," said Muller. Meanwhile, Azli said digital transformation was a key enabler under the Runway to Success 2020 business plan. He added the digital transformation would focus on the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and KLIA2 to support passenger growth at both airports. The KLIA has a capacity of 25 million passengers and the KLIA2, 45 million "The KLIA is already at its maximum capacity. Obviously, we have talked to the government on an expansion plan, but it will take sometime. So, the only way to address the growth is through automation and technology coming into play," said Azli. The airport operator launched the Runway to Success 2020 two years ago to ensure the airport operator's relevancy in an increasingly competitive environment and sustainability of its business performance It consists of four main pillars, including the utilisation of Kuala Lumpur as regional hub, the creation of a total hub experience and emergence of the KLIA Aeropolis. -- BERNAMA
