Malaysian Firms Generate Potential Sales Of US$29.3 Mln At Semicon West Trade Fair

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 (Bernama) -- Malaysian firms generated US$29.32 million (RM126 million) worth of potential sales at the Semicon West trade fair, said Malaysia External Trade Development Corp (MATRADE). In a statement Friday, MATRADE said, Malaysian-made semiconductor products were well-received at the fair, which was held from July 11-13, 2017 in San Francisco, US. "Six companies were involved in the trade fair, showcasing their products and services to counterparts from among others, the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands,” it said. MATRADE said the event showcased products, namely, cables and busbars, communication engineering, computer and communication technology, data communications, electrical components and accessories and electronic engineering. “The top Malaysian products and services sourced at the event were original equipment manufacturer contract manufacturing services, design and assembly, precision tooling and fabrication of parts and components. “Others were sub-systems or components or parts, factory control or facilities, software, support products and consumer electronics or displays,” it said. It said this year marked the ninth year of Malaysia’s participation in the well-known event and during the exhibition, the agency has organised a sales pitch session for the companies. -- BERNAMA
