MIDA Director of the Frankfurt Office S. Siva said Selangor chief minister Mohamed Azmin Ali, who headed the delegation, was accompanied by state executive councillors and representatives of Malaysian corporations, including Naguib Mohd. The delegation arrived in Hamburg on Wednesday, fresh from their three-day visit to Belgium, where they visited Lufthansa Technik, which provides maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for aircraft, engines and components, as well as machine supplier Hauni Maschinenbau GmbH.
According to German industry circles, Lufthansa Technik is expected to start its MRO operations in Subang.
The delegation will later fly to Munich where Invest Selangor is expected to hold talks with Bayern International, Bavarian’s trade and investment promotion agency, and calls on the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Media, Energy and Technology, followed by a visit to the Airbus site in Ottobrunn.
On Friday, the delegation will visit the Eckert Schools International before leaving for London en route to Kuala Lumpur.
On another matter, Siva said MIDA was also involved in organising the ASEAN Investment Forum 2017 along with German-based representatives of trade and investment promotion agencies of the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
Among speakers lined-up for the event are Juergen Ratzinger, Director (International Business) of the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chris Humphrey, Executive Director of the European Union-ASEAN Business Council, and Sufian Jusoh, an External Fellow of the World Trade Institute.
