Milaha Launches In-Country Operations In Oman

Doha, August 06 (QNA) - Milaha announced Sunday the launch of in-country operations in Oman. The company will set up a setting up warehousing and 3PL services within the Sohar Free Zone.
The company is also exploring further expansion in Oman of its diverse portfolio of services. A press statement released from Milaha today said that it has already shifted its regional transshipment hub to the Port of Sohar, where Milaha is offering competitive transit time for local cargo and a high frequency of Oman to Qatar sailings. Milahas logistics setup in Oman will provide excellent opportunities for local, regional, and international importers and exporters, and will increase options to access the lucrative Qatari market.
President and CEO of Milaha Abdulrahman Essa Al Mannai commented on the announcement and said "We are pleased to be setting up in Oman as we seek to strengthen our position as a leading international provider of marine transport and logistics services. We are excited about the opportunities this will bring for our partners and ourselves, especially as we add new value-add services such as distribution and LCL, among others, over the next few weeks. We will aim, as always, to provide the most cost-effective and efficient solutions to our clients."
Milaha currently calls two ports in Oman (Sohar and Salalah) and three ports in India (Nhava Sheva, Mundra, and Kandla), offering enhanced connectivity and transit times to Qatar and the region, and is actively evaluating further expansion of services.
The company was established in July 1957 as the first public shareholding company registered in Qatar and holds commercial registration no. 1. The legal entity, Qatar Navigation, is listed on Qatar Exchange. (QNA)
