Mitsubishi Motors to Start New Car Sales in Myanmar

Tokyo, Oct. 7 (Jiji Press)--Mitsubishi Motors Corp. <7211> said Monday it will start selling new vehicles in Myanmar in January 2014. The Japanese automaker will first sell its Thai-made L200 pickup truck and then launch more models in the Southeast Asian country. In May, the company set up a maintenance and repair shop for used Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Yangon, the largest city in Myanmar. In Myanmar, whose economy is expected to grow thanks to democratization, Nissan Motor Co. <7201> plans to start making compact cars in 2015. Mazda Motor Corp. <7261> plans to open a dealership in the country in the first half of 2014. END
