More foreign factories to be set up in Thailand in coming years

BANGKOK, January 10 (TNA) - More foreign business operators are expected to set up goods manufacturing factories in Thailand after the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by the end of this year. Amorn Chulalaksananukul, Managing Director of Ticon Management Co., Ltd., told reporters of the information, noting that Thailand is now a regional trade, investment and transportation centre and the establishment of AEC among member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), in which Thailand is a member state, will, thus, benefit the Kingdom by, among other opportunities, becoming a regional base for more foreign goods production factories to be distributed to other ASEAN member countries. Amorn acknowledged that his company is interested in expanding its warehouses and factories for rent in other ASEAN member countries too, with most of its customers being leading firms in consumer and automobile industries.
