NCCIM, FICCI To Sign Pact To Promote Trade, Investment

KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 (Bernama) -- The National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM) will sign an agreement with its Indian counterpart, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) next month, to promote bilateral trade and investment. In a statement Tuesday NCCIM Secretary-General, Syed Hussien Al Habshee, said the FICCI would organise a delegation, with a focus on start-ups and entrepreneurs, to Malaysia in May 2017. "We look forward to engage with them in the search of more specific initiatives to be jointly worked upon," he said. Syed Hussien said the chamber would also seek to have closer working ties with the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Associated Chambers of Commerce of India to further enhance bilateral trade and investment. He said the official visit to India by Prime Minister Najib Razak augured well in efforts towards realising the goals. "We believe the Malaysia-India market presents an abundance of opportunities that should be actively pursued by businesses from both sides," he said. -- BERNAMA
