Official: Iran’s Steel Production Output Hits 31m Tons

Tehran, July 20, IRNA – Iran’s steel production output capacity has considerably increased in the last Iranian year (ended March 20), a senior industrial official announced. “Iran’s steel products production output capacity reached 31 million tons in the last Iranian year (ended March 20),” Deputy Industry, Mine and Trade Minister for Planning Seyyed Alireza Shojaei said. As regards production output capacity of cement, Shojaei said that the production capacity of cement reached 80 million tons by March 20 marking the end of the last Iranian year. He noted that the figures and statistics presented by Industry, Mine and Trade Minister Mehdi Qazanfari to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution earlier this week was realistic and based on facts which fully complied with the ministry’s facts and figures. Shojaei, however, criticized certain media for misrepresent and misinterpreting the statistics and figures provided by the ministry on different occasions./end
