Organic Expo to be held in Thailand later this month
BANGKOK, July 8 (TNA) -- The Commerce Ministry will organise the ‘Organic and Natural Expo 2017’ between this July 27- 30 with an aim to boost bargaining power and expand exports of Thailand’s organic agricultural products to the world market, said Minister Apiradi Tantraporn.
More than 200 Thai entrepreneurs are expected to participate in the four-day fair to be held at Bangkok’s Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre along with manufacturers from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), said Ms Apiradi.
She said the expo will give an opportunity to producers of ASEAN member countries to increase bargaining power and increase exports of organic agricultural goods to the world market which now value over 3 trillion baht.
Currently, Thailand’s exports of organic farm products value only 2.7 billion baht and the value is projected to rise to about 3 billion baht in 2017, she said.
The ‘Organic and Natural Expo 2017’ is considered as the largest fair displaying organic farm and cosmetics products in Thailand and ASEAN while it is estimated that some 45,000 people would attend the fair.
It is projected that about 32 million baht would circulated during the expo. (TNA)
