Qatar Participates in Annual Fall Meetings of World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund

Washington, October 12 (QNA) - The State of Qatar will participate in the annual fall meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which will be held from Oct. 10 to 16 in Washington, USA to discuss the most important economic developments and challenges the world is witnessing. The State of Qatar is represented in the meetings by HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, who met with the Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, and they discussed a number of economic issues that the world is witnessing at the regional and international levels. The annual meetings of the IMF and World Bank Group Boards of Governors bring together central bank governors, ministers of finance and development, senior officials from the private sector, representatives of civil society organizations, and academics, to discuss issues of global concern, including the global economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness.
