Qatari e-commerce Information Portal Inaugurated at QITCOM 2017
Doha, March 08 (QNA) - HE Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani and HE Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti inaugurated on Wednesday the Qatari e-commerce Information Portal within the framework of the Fourth QITCOM Exhibition and Conference 2017 held under the theme of "Qatar Towards A Smart Future" at Qatar National Convention Centre.
The e-commerce Portal provides consumers, businessmen and companies with the necessary and most updated information on the e-commerce scene in the State of Qatar, as well as tips, guidelines and best practices of the relevant guidelines.
This comes within the framework of the two Ministries' efforts to support the growth of e- commerce in the Qatari market as well as to revitalize and diversify the national economy in the framework of implementing the objectives of WYSA1, the legal and governance framework of e-commerce issued recently by the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
The WYSA1 assesses the scene on the current state of the e-commerce and online shopping Internet in Qatar and also aims to develop a general framework to tackle the obstacles.
On this occasion, HE Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti said this portal comes within the implementation of the directives of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani to launch all service projects and complete them as planned with the highest possible quality.
He expressed delight over launching the new Portal, hoping that it would encourage traders and citizens to engage in this field since it provides services and valuable information for companies and individuals who wish to purchase or create their own sites and platforms online.
In this context, HE Al Sulaiti said the Portal was the result of a joint effort between the two Ministries, reflecting the fruitful cooperation and integration between the State's Institutions.
The Portal provides updated information on how to start a new business, best practices and services that help businesses grow and prosper in the market. It also defines various legislation and guidelines that ensure compliance with the law.
The Portal also offers a wide range of tips and guidelines for online shopping for consumers.
It also provides information on how to establish and design a practical and easy interface for electronic website, means to set terms and conditions for the development of a e-commerce site, which displays transparency and integrity and complies with the local regulations.
The Government of the State of Qatar considers e-commerce among the priorities aimed at achieving the four pillars of the Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030. (QNA)
