Ringgit Weaker In Early Trade

KUALA LUMPUR, July 4 (Bernama) -- The ringgit erased Monday's gains to open lower against the US dollar Tuesday morning as investors were on the lookout for US key economic reports, a dealer said. At 9 am, the ringgit was traded at 4.2960/3000 against the greenback from 4.2965/2995 on Monday. “Investors eyes are glued at the global updates, including minutes from the US Federal Reserves's last meeting, which is expected to be released tomorrow (Wednesday),” he said, adding that it would set the market’s tone. Against a basket of major currencies, the ringgit was traded higher. It rose against the Singapore dollar to 3.1083/1123 from 3.1107/1131 on Monday, appreciated against the British pound to 5.5637/5707 from 5.5738/5790, advanced against the yen to 3.7944/7989 from 3.8049/8082 and improved against the euro to 4.8854/8904 from 4.8860/8903 on Monday. -- BERNAMA
