South Oilfield Company Seeks To Produce Over 3m bpd Oil

Ahvaz, Khuzestan prov, July 1, IRNA – Managing Director of national Iranian South Oilfields Company Hamid Bovard said Monday the company has plans to increase oil production to more than three million barrels per day. Speaking to IRNA, Bovard said the new plans are being pursued in line with policies of Oil Ministry, adding the necessary preparations and executive operations are underway to achieve the goal. Bovard referred to recent calls by Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh to boost production and said NISOC is ready to make every effort to utilize the existing capacities for the agenda. A main part of the plans aimed at increased production includes drilling and repairing oil wells, the official said, adding, NISOC has carried out more than 77,000 meters of drilling in the first quarter of the current Iranian year which started on March 21. /end
