Thai Commerce Minister postpones Turkey visit

BANGKOK, July 16 (TNA) -- Thai Minister of Commerce Ms Apiradi Tantraporn has postpones her schedule to visit Turkey until the political situation there is more stable after the attempted coup failed. Ms Apiradi has decided to delay her planned visit to Turkey on July 19 indefinitely, waiting for clear situation there. The commerce minister and her entourage were scheduled to travel to Turkey for further talks on the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two nations. Turkey is considered one of the major economies and has potential to expand. Moreover, Turkey is a member of G20 groups with an advantage strategic location and could be a bridge between Asia and Europe. Turkey is also a good gateway for trade and investment. Thailand-Turkey's FTA talks is set to finish in the middle of next year. (TNA)
