Thailand eyes exports to Indonesia's main cities
BANGKOK, April 23 (TNA) - Thai businessmen have been urged to export more goods to Indonesia, especially to its four cities, said Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn.
The encouragement was made following a meeting to boost Thai exports to Indonesia, a fellow member in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Stressing that Indonesia has high potential for foreign businessmen on trade and investment, Mrs. Apiradi said Indonesia’s four cities including Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan and Macassar now allow foreign investors for full investment on raw materials production for pharmaceutical industry.
Foreign businessmen are also allowed to co-invest with local small and medium enterprise operators in e-Commerce business, retail business with investment of more than 100,000 rupiah and movie production, she said.
Two-way trade value between Thailand and Indonesia in 2016 totaled about 14.5 billion US dollars. Thailand enjoyed trade surplus with Indonesia. (TNA)
