Thailand Innovation and Design Expo 2015 set Sept 17-20

BANGKOK, August 17 (TNA) - Thailand Innovation and Design Expo 2015 will be held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok from September 17 to 20, expected to draw over 15,000 international visitors. The ministry's Department of International Trade Promotion, the organiser of the upcoming expo, projected on Monday that the biggest Thai innovation and design exposition is also expected to generate tens of millions of baht worth of trade and promote Thailand as a centre of value addition in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) through innovations and designs in accordance with the creative economy policy of the Thai government. The department's deputy director-general, Suwipan Thisyamondol, told journalists that Thai exports should benefit from China's recent yuan devaluation because if China increased its exports, it should import more quality materials from Thailand for its export-oriented production. Suwipan revealed that his ministry will, however, hold a meeting with financial experts on August 18 to assess impacts of the yuan devaluation. (TNA)
